The local agency you will work with in Costa Rica

Our travel agency was founded in 2009 and it has been under Austrian/Costa-Rican leadership since its first days. Together with our team of enthusiastic and international travel planners we offer unforgettable journeys to Costa Rica. Our company has its office in St. Domingo, a small town around 30 minutes driving distance from the capital city. We frequently explore the most remote places of the country in order to get inspired to create extraordinary and creative travel ideas for our customers. With loving attention to detail, we elaborate unique individual programs which meet the specific needs of our customers. In the selection of our suppliers, we attach great importance to choosing preferably Costa Rican small businesses, in order to contribute positively to the development of individual regions, and among other things, to create or secure more jobs for the local population.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated German-speaking travel consultant (with at least one year of experience in sales in the tourism industry) to join our team in Costa Rica. You will oversee direct sales with Evaneos customers. You will be the person who receives inquiries through the Evaneos platform and the main contact for the German travelers. As the contract will be with the local agency, the job could contain any or more of the following duties:

  • Understand travelers expectations
  • Main contact for clients to determine travel needs, budgets and preferences : tailor-made itineraries
  • Match travelers requirements with the transportation, accommodations, insurance, tours and activities.
  • Advises clients regarding destinations, cultures, customs, weather and activities
  • Responsible for billing with the travelers
  • Handles travel issues, conflicts, complaints, cancellations and refunds
  • Builds and maintains relationships with travel and tour operators
  • Booking management: reservation with hotels and other services
  • Follow-up of the sales process

Duration & contract type: long-term contract or internship
Precise location: St. Domingo, Costa Rica
Availability: ASAP
Salary: to be discussed, according to profile (minimum of 1500$ per month)
Working time per day and week: 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week
Other: no remote work from Europe, 1/2 days per week could be considered after the trial period

Preferred Experience

Languages required:

  • German: native or bilingual to be able to speak with German customers
  • Spanish: to be able to speak with your colleagues and the local providers we are working with

Ideal profile:

  • Previous experience in tourism
  • Previous experience in sales is a plus
  • Knowledge about Costa Rica is required
