The local agency you will be working with in South Africa

Kamaroutes is a female-led local agency that organizes tailor-made trips to Southern Africa. We are based in Johannesburg and specialize in off-the-beaten-track trips for FITs, small groups and solo female travellers. Our aim is to make travel in Southern Africa safer, more fulfilling for the traveller while giving back to the local communities.

Job Description

Our local agency aims to develop its markets by opening the Italian market. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Italian-speaking travel consultant to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. You will be responsible for opening the Italian market and developing sales with Evaneos customers. You will be the person who receives inquiries through the Evaneos platform and the main contact for Italian travelers. As the contract will be with the local agency, the job could contain any or more of the following duties :

  • Prepare itineraries and quotes for the clients in Italian language, deals with all enquiries from the beginning until confirmed

  • Understand travelers expectations

  • Main contact for clients to determine travel needs, budgets, and preferences

  • Design tailor-made itineraries

  • Match travelers' requirements with transportation, accommodations, insurance, tours, and activities.

  • Advises clients regarding destinations, cultures, customs, weather, and activities

  • Responsible for billing the travelers

  • Handles travel issues, conflicts, complaints, cancellations, and refunds

  • Builds and maintains relationships with travel and tour operators

  • Booking management: reservation with hotels and other services

  • Quality monitoring during the trip

Additional information

Duration & contract type: fixed term

Precise location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Availability: from August 2023

Salary: negotiable, depending on experience

Other advantages: Remote work, commission on sales

Working time per day and week: 30 hours per week

Preferred Experience

Languages required:

  • Italian: native or bilingual

  • English : to be able to speak with your colleagues and the local providers we are working with

Ideal profile:

  • Previous experience (min 2 years) in tourism or sales is required

  • Knowledge of the Italian market is required as it is a market expansion

  • Knowledge about the destination South Africa (or Namibia, Botswana) would be a big plus

  • You are already living in South Africa

  • Organised and client-oriented

  • Strong sales focus

  • Problem-solving

  • Flexibility and adaptability

  • Time management
